Here's The Run Down
My introduction to health & wellness began when I lost over 50lbs in 2010 with the help of an amazing personal trainer who taught me how to design a training program and the basics of nutrition. I recently competed at USAPL Raw Nationals Powerlifting Competition women’s 60kg weight class – lifting over 405kg/891lbs (Squat – 132.5kg/292.5lbs; Bench press – 87.5kg/192.5lbs, Deadlift – 185kg/407lbs); completed 10 half marathons with a PR of 1 hr:46min, completed the Malibu Triathlon, and many other races (when I used to be a cardio bunny). My philosophy that keeps me motivated to continue to live a healthier lifestyle is remembering that: It’s a journey to find what works best for YOU & YOUR BODY
We are meant to do work we love. The world needs it. My love just happens to be health & wellness. I became a Personal Trainer/Coach to inspire others and provide the necessary tools and support to individuals who struggle with proper nutrition and physical activity. My way of being is to be vibrant and bold in life. I want to inspire others through my passion, energy, and drive for health & wellness. I love sharing my knowledge with others and strives to encourage my clients to achieve their goals. It feels so good to say that you finished something. I wants my clients to leave feeling energized and accomplished = INCREASED self confidence & self image.
What I have learned in the last 10 years of my journey that does work:
Focusing on hunger cues/satiation, exercise behaviors & mindset shifts
Using an eating strategy that is sustainable throughout life
Prioritizing eating whole, minimally processed foods (eat enough protein, carbs, fats, loads of veggies!!)
Resistance training that encompasses exercises that I truly love to do + Incorporating Progressive Overload
Being flexible (being less restrictive) - so yes I will eat a 🍩 when I choose to!!
Placing less focus on the scale and more focus on overall deep health
Adherence is 👑 to whatever eating strategy you use
Committing to the process
Proper monitoring
Patience!!
Keeping stress down and getting enough 💤💤
Consistency, Consistency, Consistency
